Heaven Nightclub

When I turned 18 (age of majority in Alberta), I decided to stop throwing warehouse parties and do something more permanent. In 1997, a few partners and I turned a vacant Calgary office into an underground dance nightclub, where guest DJs like LA's Steve Loria and Chicago's Darrell Woodson exposed an emerging house music scene to sounds from around the world. Weekly nights like Al Testa's "Beatdown," Todd Omotani's "Sanctuary" and Cyrus Calosing's "Mushroom Fridays" established Heaven as a destination spot where forward-thinking creatives could interact, create and unwind.
