Media Design Group Retreat & Report
Learning and Instructional Development Centre

As I have a lot of event planning and management experience, I volunteered to plan and organize a retreat for the team I worked with. I was responsible for coming up with the plan for the entire day, organizing the events, facilitating the groupd discussion/workshop, and writing a report that was submitted to LIDC directors and managers.
On Tuesday, June 12th, 2007, fifteen members in the Media Production Group of Simon Fraser University's Learning and Instructional Development Centre (LIDC) participated in an organizational retreat consisting of: a Sea Quest Scavenger Hunt, lunch on Bowen Island, and a 3-hour workshop inside a quaint Summerhouse. The purpose of the retreat was to address the department's most pertinent challenges and develop a report/action plan. The retreat's activities proved to be very enjoyable, the challenges were great team-building exercises and the day is sure to be a memorable LIDC event for many years to come.
