ROLLOUT was recently thrilled to be back in our hometown Calgary to work on the design philosophy for Mango Shiva. Mango Shiva is Calgary’s favourite contemporary Indian restaurant and owner Kam Dhillon wanted something truly unique for the restaurant’s re-design and re-launch. The project required 1000 sq/ft of wallpaper for the Girls & Boys Restroom walls and ceilings. The overall aesthetic of the main room was too elegant and restrained but Mr. Dhillon wanted the bathrooms to be lush with vibrant colour and imagery. When ROLLOUT sat down over some mango lhassi and asked owner Kam what he was looking for, he thought a moment and said ‘The Beatles go to Bollywood on an Acid Trip’. We smiled and said: ‘No problem Kam. No problem at all.’ We think the Liverpool lads would approve.
It was ROLLOUT’s privilege to again work with the estimable Walker McKinley of MDB on this project.
